When I was a young boy I would sit down at the piano and make up songs. I'd get all excited and say to my Mom, "I made up another song!" She would respond from the kitchen, "I really liked that one!" She loved music and always encouraged me. I continued playing and writing songs and eventually some of my music was published and recorded by other artists.
While living and performing in Phoenix I would sometimes start making up songs at my gigs. Kind of spontaneous compositions. They eventually began to take shape and were well received. Many people suggested that I record a CD of my piano songs.
The Open Window is the first of two CD's comprising this collection of original piano works. And, though I consider myself a song-writer, I'm just doing what I've enjoyed doing since I was a child - making up songs.
